Jury
& Associates has been involved
working with different governmental bodies in
managing, leasing and brokerage since 1988.
With the failures of the savings & loan
industry, Jury & Associates managed and
leased one of the largest portfolios of RTC
properties throughout the Greater Kansas City
area. In 1993 we were selected by the Housing
and Urban Development to take over the management
and disposition of over 1,500 apartment units.
This covered the entire state of Kansas and
the western half of Missouri. The four year
contract expired at the end of 1997 and successfully
assisted the government in the management, rehabilitation
and disposition of Section 8 apartments.
While
involved with this federal contract, we were
responsible for administrating and assisting
in the general contracting and construction
management of all construction. This required
following all FAR Rules and Regulations for
contracting under the federal government. Upon
completion of the contract, we were congratulated
on our success in compliance with all the rules
and regulations during the entire contract term.
During our annual audits, we were found to have
complied with all regulations and archieved
all the goals set for each year.
In
the spring of 1997, we were selected by the
Kansas City Housing Authority and its´Receiver
to enter into a partnership managing city-owned
residential subsidized housing. This contract
was for a one-year term with two one-year renewals.
I am pleased to report the partnership was very
successful and the City expanded their portfolio
and extended our contract an additional five
(5) years.
Under
each of these three (3) different and distinct
governmental contracts we have had to conduct
our business based upon the overseeing of both
the public and the governmental bodies´request.
We have found that by applying our institutional
and private management experience while working
within the framework of the governmental bodies
we have been able to improve each property while
working through the public framework of the
administration.
In addition to our direct involvement with
the public administration, we have involved
the residents and tenants in each of the contracts
in the marketing and management of the facilities.
This would include Merchant´s Associations
in retail centers to residential community groups
and associations.
